Feeling festive!!

Am I the only one who is feeling festive right now? I loveee Christmas, although British weather makes it less fun :-( I thought as I was in the spirit I would answer some questions!

1. Do you like to stay in your PJ’s, or dress up for Christmas?

PJ's in the morning, but then I love to have a Christmas Dress! :-D

2. If you could only buy one person a present this year, who would it be?

Either my mum or my Grand-Father. They have both been through a lot this past year and I just want to spoil them rotten!

3. Do you open your presents Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

We normally get to open one present on Christmas Eve, and then the rest we open in the morning!

4. Have you ever built a Gingerbread house?

Regrettably, no. But I intend to this year with one of my friends!

5. What do you like to do on your Christmas break?
I normally just spend lots of time with the fam-a-lam, and with the birds. I also love to go ice-skating, that is on the to do list!!

6. What’s your favourite Christmas meal or treat?

I love a good slice of Christmas Cake! I also enjoy making one with my grand-parents! They're the best:-D

7. What’s your favourite holiday movie?

I love to watch the Santa Claus Trilogy, they're amazing! I also love The Holiday, and at Christmas, TV's broadcast brilliant films, so I just spend most of my time watching the films on iPlayer :-p

8. Candy Canes or Gingerbread Men?

Candy Canes, but I love the smell of fresh Gingerbread Men, and when they are warm in the middle with milk! *slowly dies*

9. Have you ever made a snowman?
I have! Whenever it used to snow, we would just go up and down the street with one of our neighbours in an effort to make the biggest snowman ever!

10. Which do you like better, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
I prefer Christmas Eve tbh :-/ because on Christmas Day, you know you have limited time and then its over. Whereas on Christmas Eve, the Christmas spirit is everywhere and I love to go shopping (even though it is a lot of hassle) to see everyone acting so happy and full of life for once, it's incredible!

11. White lights, or coloured lights?

I love coloured lights on trees, but white light decorations look much more sophisticated!

12. Favourite Christmas Song?

Over the last couple of years, I have grown to love The Wurzels. I have to say their Christmas Album is one of the best things to listen to! It can be quite rude so it's not for the younger ones, but it is comical and so catchy! If you were to listen to one song, listen to Come On Santa!

13. Favourite Christmas Scent?

I don't really have a favourite scent but I love the deep, ginger/cinnamon/berries. I have to say though I love the clean air scent, it's brilliant, and helps to clear the head!

My favourites?

I have many favourites at the minute... My MacBook, Snapchat, History.

Though today, I'm going to be talking about my favourite types of Birds of Prey. I have a fondness of Barn Owls and Snowy Owls, as they are two of my lovely birdies. I also have a big attraction to Falcons! I love them so much it's unbelievable, the Peregrines, who's speed fascinates me, and the wonderful range of Gyr/Saker falcons.

We had a Gyr/Pere/Saker Falcon called Bluefoot, a Lanner Falcon called Nickel and a Saker Falcon called Maverick. Though I loved them all lots, it was hard to keep all the birds and so we unfortunately had to cut down. We currently have a Gyr/Saker Falcon called Jaroody, who is stunning. He is a lovely little chap, however can turn quite quickly, but when he's lovely, he's gorgeous. Although, he does happen to hate our big Golden Retriever, Jester.

I also love Eagles. I love that they are so big, regal and majestic. It's amazing to see them fly. I just love the White Tailed Sea Eagle, Golden Eagle, Tawney Eagle and the Chilean Blue Eagle. They are wonderful birds, but unfortunately they are just too big! It would take a lot of time and management to be able to keep one, and I just don't have much of either of them at the minute.

Falcons and Eagles have always had my interest but recently I have become more inclined to Owls. I don't know why, but I love them more than I love most things.

There are the obvious favourites: Barn Owl, Snowy Owl, Little Owl, Tawny Owl, European Eagle Owl.

But then there are all the other ones that just amaze me. I am in love with the Asian Brown Wood Owl, it is such a gorgeous owl that I just want 100 of them. I am also in love with the Spectacled Owl. The big yellow eyes in the big white rings around the eyes. I also love these birds because they are quite big birds, making them more appealing to me.

I don't just love big birds, I also love the small little ones. I love our White Faced Scops Owl, Yoda, or as I call her 'Baba'. They have huge yellow/orange eyes that look too big for their face, and they contrast well with the grey and white feathers. I am also totally in love with Burrowing Owls, the 'Little Owl on stilts'. They are adorable, and surprisingly fast!!

Am I the only one?

I, a like many teenagers, love me a bit of Social Networks. I love the idea and concept of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and (obvs ;-) ) Snapchat.

They are my favourite things to look at, they all help me stay in touch with old friends that I no longer see due to them not coming to Sixth Form. I like the simplicity of it, the fact that I can talk so easily to everyone even if they are just around the corner.

Facebook helps me just talk to my friends (even though half the time it's just to ask how you do the homework). I just adore it. Facebook is normally the first thing I check in the morning, and on my newsfeed there is normally many vines! Love Vines! They are just hilarious!!!

The second thing I check is Instagram. It may seem weird but I have made so many friends through Instagram. Mostly, falconers, but there is a strong knit community on there that I just love! Last month when I posted a picture of Hedwig (Our old Snowy Owl, that we unfortunately had to put down), there were a quite a few people who said they are sorry for your loss and try to offer sympathy. If something happens, we usually try to help and show our respect for them. I also love to look up the #barnowl tag, it always makes me chuckle when people think that most owls are Barn Owls!

After Instagram, I normally check Twitter, see what's trending and what's happened over the night. Twitter is normally the best if I want to know what's happening. I am following @BBCOne, and on a Saturday they normally show teasers of whats going to happen in Doctor Who. I recently, got into the world of American Horror Story (AHS), and as Freakshow is coming soon, I am constantly checking lots of peoples twitter to check for pictures, teasers etc. I just love how instantaneous everything is!

The last one I check is Snapchat. Now sometimes this annoys me, because Snapchat seem to think everyone wants to know about 'Oktoberfest' or 'College Football', however sadly I don't. What I love about Snapchat is that you could be talking to anyone. Like you could talk to your friends and send pictures of you with 20 chins, or you could be talking to your 'crush' and be looking all nice. Recently, Youtubers have taken to using Snapchat and I love it. I love how even though they seem so famous and above everyone yet each of them take their own time out of the day and just talk to us. I think it is brilliant! One thing I do have to say about SC is that I hate not having enough room to type something out. It's really furiating. And there isn't enough room to write it out either! Eurgh.
